Triple Peak approach

Post by TomTuriano »

Hi,

I received this email from Ben Franklin of Daniel, WY on 101204:

I climbed Triple Peak on Sunday. Still a one-armed bandit, I was looking for the easy route. Anyway I found a trail which goes from Sheep Creek up to the saddle between Peak 10,290 and Triple peak's summit block, which consists of the highest point 11,127 and Peak 10,990. From there it was a steep hike to the top but not too bad. The trail has Forest Service blazes and follows a natural line up an intermittent drainage just to the west of Triple's north ridge. Would make a good winter ascent route. The NW face of 10,990 looks like a killer line. Looking over into Sheep Creek, there is a plethora of great looking ski lines, many of them north facing.
